Landing pages are crucial for indie hackers. They're your best chance to turn potential interest into real users or customers. Plus, they help you gauge market interest for your idea.
Many indie hackers struggle with creating landing pages, either spending too little time or endlessly tinkering. The good news is, there are tools to make it easy and fast. As a developer, you'll save energy by using a simple, drag-and-drop setup instead of coding.
If you're not a developer, these tools are even more important. So here are some great options for building landing pages:
Carrd
Carrd is a drap-and-drop website builder that is really easy to use, and can allow you to spin up a landing page very rapidly. Carrd natively creates only one-page sites, but you have some workarounds to make it seem like you have more pages. If you are using Carrd, blogstatic is a great choice to set up a blog for your site. The fully-featured plan for Carrd costs only $49 per year. And the best part is, it's not $49 per year for one site, but TWENTY-FIVE sites! There is also an ecosystem around Carrd, with Carrd Plugins, and Carrd templates.

Framer
Framer is a much more sophisticated option for building landing pages, with the ability to create beautiful sites with gorgeous animations. You get CMS functionality, localisation, SEO tools and more, and there's a vast selection of templates to choose from. But if you want to start from a blank canvas, it's closer to webflow in experience and I personally found it tricky to use that way. In terms of pricing it's no Carrd but its fairly reasonable.

Unicorn Platform
Unicorn Platform is pretty simple to use and it has tons of readymade components specifically for landing pages, things like FAQ sections, pricing sections, feature lists, and more. There is CMS functionality if you need it, and they have recently integrated AI features to help you make your landing page faster. In terms of ease of use, it's closer to Carrd than to Framer, but the pricing is on the higher side, especially if you don't want to include a "Made with Unicorn Platform" badge on your site.

ShipFast
If you are a developer, the ShipFa.st SaaS starter kit comes with a pretty decent landing page set up which will also seamlessly integrate with your app. It is based on Next.js and costs $200 one-time as of May 2024. A blog setup is also provided. But you will need to make modifications using code.

Bonus: Landing Page guide
Having tools to build landing pages is all well and good, but it's no use if you can't make a landing page that actually convinces people to buy your product. This very well written and easy to follow guide walks you through all that goes into making a landing page that converts, and it's free!
